Catching up on the latest from TAG Heuer with our Buyer, Sophie Conroy

We’ve sat down with Sophie Conroy, our Watch Buyer, as she shares her thoughts on the latest from the Swiss luxury watch brand, homing in on the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT and the TAG Heuer Porsche Connected Edition.

It’s been yet another exciting month for TAG Heuer this August. With the release of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT and the TAG Heuer Porsche Connected Edition, we’re spoilt for choice! Can you give us an overview of these releases?

Following on from the success of the Aquaracer Professional 300s that launched last year, we are very excited to see the 300 GMT launch on two variations: steel three-link bracelet or blue rubber strap. These two pieces are the perfect tool watch for any traveller and adventurer diving into the blue.

We’re also delighted to introduce the E4 Connected Porsche, a timepiece sure to appeal to any thrill-seeker with an exclusive watch face, available only to owners of the special Porsche smartwatch, inspired by printed circuit boards and racing circuits. The timepiece is incredibly lightweight - launching in a grade 2, 45mm titanium and DLC case – and features on a strap that consists of a rubber base and leather upper to ensure total comfort.

How does the TAG Heuer Aquaracer GMT differ from its predecessors?

The new colour palette for the Aquaracer GMTs are combinations that have been carefully selected for divers and surfers across the globe: the blues represent the sky and the waves, whilst the yellow represents the sun.

To also determine day and night, the bi-directional rotating bezel uses both midnight blue and brilliant white.

Which is your favourite feature of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer GMT and why?

Even when creating a GMT Aquaracer 300, TAG Heuer has stayed true to its roots and remains strong in its design ethos keeping the six signature features from the original Aquaracer of 2004: water resistance to at least 200M, luminous markers, a double safety clasp, unidirectional bezel, screw down crown as well as a sapphire crystal. TAG Heuer’s dedication to keeping these features at the heart of every new Aquaracer release is my favourite thing about it!

TAG Heuer and Porsche have an iconic partnership, and this new timepiece celebrates this once again. How does this new timepiece continue to celebrate their relationship?

The E4 Connected Porsche edition celebrates the innovative Porsche Taycan. As we continue to look for more ways and opportunities to protect our planet, this all-electric partnership showcases the special collaborations and new technologies both iconic companies will continue to deliver.
