Girls are ruling the world of horology as three of the biggest brands in Swiss watchmaking announce new female ambassadors. It's always exciting to see which fresh faces are joining the ranks of luxury watch ambassadors, and this year IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-Lecoultre and OMEGA are proving they are all about girl power by choosing a host of famous women to represent them. Back in October, Jaeger-Lecoultre announced Anya Taylor-Joy (above) as its latest ambassador, Of course, Taylor Joy has been making a big impact in the acting world over the past few years, sweeping up multiple awards for her portrayal of Beth Harmon in the Netflix hit The Queen's Gambit in 2020. The brand has launched the new partnership with a short video named 'A Call of the Heart'. The film, starring Taylor-Joy, is a homage to a famous phone call that took place in 1903, when Jacques-David Lecoultre rang Parisian watchmaker Edmond Jaeger to accept the challenge of creating an ultra-thin movement - a partnership that led to the formation of La Grande Maison we know today. Anya wears a timepiece from the Reverso Classic Duetto collection for the film, which is a fitting tribute to one of the brand's most iconic and noted designs.

OMEGA, meanwhile, is no stranger to choosing inspiring women as its ambassadors, with the likes of model Kaia Gerber and Olympic champion sprinter Allyson Felix having fronted the brand's campaigns. One of its newest ambassadors is the singer, director, model, actress and style icon Zoe Kravitz. Known for her ability to transcend fashion, Kravitz can pull off any kind of look - from festival-esque boho dresses to sharp tailoring - and the OMEGA Constellation Quartz with lavender dial (£3,500) definitely suits her cool-girl credentials.

IWC Schaffhausen is also getting in on the girl-power act by partnering with the female global style icon and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bi.indchen. As well as being the face of its new Portofino campaign, Bi.indchen is also the brand's first Environmental and Community Projects Advisor. IWC Schaffhausen has been making commitments to sustainability for over a decade, including developing new eco-friendly materials to provide an alternative to leather.

With ladies' watches enjoying a moment in the spotlight, it's no wonder the watch world is clamouring to pick their own leading ladies.
